Siblings

Siblings that wish to play on the same team either have to be in the same age group, or one of the players needs to play up to the older league. According to League rules, older players can NOT play down in age. When registering two children, you will need to choose the higher age group for both.

Age Group

According to USA softball rules the age of an athlete as of August 31st determines their age for the upcoming season. This applies to Fall and then Spring as well. Feel free to use the age calculator on the USA softball website with this LINK.

Equipment

Athlete(s) shall bring all required softball gear and equipment such as the following: Bat, Batting Helmet, Softball Cleats (non-metal), Fielding Mask, Glove.  Optional: Elbow Guard, Batting Gloves, Chest Protector, etc... Here is LINK for a well developed checklist of Must Haves.

SPRING session starts around the beginning of April. This exact date is determined by the Allie-Kiski Softball League. Practices and game play will start after league scheduling. Prior to this date when teams are determined, the head coach will reach out to all parents for introductions and team communication regarding the upcoming season and expectations.

Dates of Play

As part of the Spring registration fee, families receive five (5) $10 Spring Raffle tickets. Parents may choose to sell these tickets to friends and family to offset the cost, or keep them for personal use. The raffle drawing takes place on Father’s Day, with prizes typically valued at approximately $500. Prize details are provided to the league via email prior to the start of the Spring season.

Raffle Tickets

Each softball season, every family is required to volunteer for at least one evening operating game concessions (one shift per family, regardless of the number of players). Concessions generate essential funds that help keep the league operating successfully. Multiple dates and locations are available to accommodate family schedules.

To ensure participation, families are required to submit a $75 volunteer commitment check to the league. Once the concession duty is completed, the check will be returned or securely destroyed. All players must submit this check prior to participating in any team activities in order to be eligible to play in the upcoming session. Checks should be made payable to “Butler Fastpitch”.  Mail the check as soon as possible to Butler Fastpitch Association, PO Box 335, Butler, PA 16003. Any player who has not met this obligation by the end of the season, the check will be cashed and the deposit becomes the property of Butler Fastpitch.

Concession

Game uniforms are a requirement for all players for the season. Costs associated with jerseys are part of the registration fees for first time registrants or when choosing “New Jersey needed” A Jersey will be supplied with this extra fee and includes a pair of socks. Shirt size and number choices are imputed at this time. Black softball pants are purchased through any retailer of your choice.
