Butler Fastpitch Association would like to provide opportunities for our softball players and coaches to get a jump start for the spring 2026 season. We were able to renew our agreement with the Butler YMCA in the city of Butler which will provide us a rental of a full gym on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Over the course of the sessions, we are going to offer pitching lessons and open gym softball instruction. Please see the requirements below in order to attend.
If you have any questions, you may email us at butlerfastpitch@hotmail.com or call/text Derek Myers at (814) 758-1694.
Requirements
1) Prior to attending an open gym, you must first register for the spring 2026 season or at the beginning of the first open gym pay $20. We need your registration for 2 reasons; you are showing commitment to playing this season and your player(s) will be added to our insurance, which is required by YMCA and the Butler Fastpitch Association.
2) If you plan to attend an open gym, you must first reserve a spot by signing up on SignUpGenius (instruction below). The open gyms are open to any athlete 6U-18U and will run every Saturday from January 17th through March 21st.
3) Please pay attention to the three sessions offered each Saturday:
-Pitching; Fundamentals: ($5 11:00 AM-11:30 AM)- This clinic style pitching session is designed for players new or with limited experience in pitching techniques.
-Open Gym: ($5 11:30 AM- 1:30 PM)- Open to players of all ages and abilities. Sessions are designed to build and strengthen fundamental softball skills.
- Pitching; Advanced:($10 1:15 PM- 2:00 PM)- Players with significant experience and knowledge are given the opportunity to enhance their skills.
4) For the pitching sessions, please bring a catcher with your pitcher. CATCHERS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED DURING THE PITCHING SESSIONS.
5) Money for the sessions will be paid at the beginning of each session individually. If multiple players from the same family are participating, the family will only pay $5 total. The money is paid to Butler Fastpitch toward the rental space at the YMCA. Pitching sessions have additional prices due to the professional nature of the instruction.
6) Your daughter(s) should arrive 10 minutes early and be ready for instruction for the start of the session. This is critical for your daughter's safety, the effectiveness of learning and to keep it possible to fit in full instructions in a limited time environment.
7) Your daughter(s) shall bring all required softball gear and equipment such as the following: Bat, Batting Helmet, Indoor athletic shoes, Fielding Mask, Glove. Optional: Elbow Guard, Batting Gloves, Chest Protector, etc...
8) Any adult who plans to attend must show ID.
